My client is a petite and very slim version of an apple shape.   If you find that you store the majority of your weight on the tummy (often with a wider waist) and bust however have slimmer legs and arms (and often a flatter butt) then you’re probably an Apple Shape. It is important therefore to find outfits that therefore show off your arms and or legs as well as add layers (eg this cardigan) to help break up the mid section. Another option is to add diagonal patterns that cut across the body and therefore take away from the mid-section because your eye follows the direction of the line.
